{"id":17635,"date":"2025-12-19T11:21:38","date_gmt":"2025-12-19T10:21:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wucwo.org\/?p=17635"},"modified":"2025-12-19T11:22:32","modified_gmt":"2025-12-19T10:22:32","slug":"living-the-2026-message-of-peace-a-ucwlc-reflection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wucwo.org\/en\/living-the-2026-message-of-peace-a-ucwlc-reflection\/","title":{"rendered":"Living the 2026 Message of Peace: A UCWLC reflection"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yesterday, the Holy See presented the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/press.vatican.va\/content\/salastampa\/en\/bollettino\/pubblico\/2025\/12\/18\/251218a.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Message of the Holy Father Leo XIV for the 59th World Day of Peace (1 January 2026)<\/em><\/a><\/strong>, entitled <strong>\u201cPeace be with you all: Towards an \u2018unarmed and disarming\u2019 peace\u201d.<\/strong> Echoing Christ\u2019s words, <strong>\u201cPeace be with you!\u201d<\/strong>, the message calls for a renewed commitment to peace rooted in justice and reconciliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/ucwlc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Ukrainian Catholic Women\u2019s League of Canada (UCWLC)<\/strong><\/a> is the official organisation of women in the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada. Rooted in faith and dedicated to service, the League promotes four central aims:\u00a0<strong>Catholic Faith, Ukrainian Culture, Social Action, and Charitable Works<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our mission unites women across the country, enriching their spiritual lives while preserving and celebrating Ukrainian traditions, language, and cultural heritage. Guided by Christian ideals of justice and love, we advocate for the sanctity of life, the dignity of every human person, and the strength of families and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our organisation brings together over\u00a0<strong>2,350 members<\/strong>\u00a0across Canada where members carry out projects that embody our four aims and respond to the needs of the Church and the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A reflection on Peace: Living the 2026 message of Peace<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this context, the <strong>2026<\/strong> <strong>Message of Peace<\/strong> calls the world to reconciliation, human dignity, and justice. For this reason, it resonates deeply with the mission of the Ukrainian Catholic Women\u2019s League of Canada as we respond to the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, for our organisation,\u00a0peace is not an abstract idea\u2014it is a daily practice\u00a0rooted in faith, compassion, and solidarity.
