With this issue, we begin 2026 consolidating the changes in our image and strengthening the identity and mission of WUCWO. We do so by remembering what distinguishes us and reaffirming the value of belonging to an organisation like ours: what it can offer us and, at the same time, what each of us can contribute to it.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will also find topics related to our priorities today. I invite you to take a moment to read a particularly relevant article: \u2018The family as a vocation,\u2019 an interview with Gabriella Gambino, Undersecretary of the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life. Her reflections on the family, the challenges of family pastoral care, motherhood, single-parent families and working women will help guide our actions.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Committed to ecological conversion, in this edition we are launching the option to purchase our magazine in digital format to help protect the planet by reducing the consumption of paper, ink and fuel for transport. Be part of this change! <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>But today I would like to focus this editorial on the reasons why it is worthwhile for member organisations and their women to belong to WUCWO. Here are some of them: <\/em><\/h4>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mision: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, as 116 years ago, this global network of Catholic women&#8217;s organisations comes together to fulfil more effectively its mission: to promote the integral human development of women and their full and co-responsible participation in all areas of ecclesial and social life, encouraging them to live out their Christian vocation and their commitment to the world. As you will see ahead, this is what we celebrate and give thanks for every year on May 13, WUCWO Day. <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Formation and information: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We organise online seminars, workshops and face-to-face meetings focusing on the Magisterium of the Church, our priorities and the most relevant events in the Church and in the world. We also offer training exclusively for the women of our organisations, such as the workshop \u2018Communicating our Mission\u2019 announced here. We complement this task with our magazine, websites, newsletter, social media, circulars and messages. On occasions, we accompany our communications with a reflection that brings women closer to reality and encourages them to transform it.   <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Networking to increase advocacy and enhance impact: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In such an interconnected world, our missionary dimension requires us to work through networks. WUCWO offers its members close collaboration with various Holy See agencies; facilitates cooperation with other Catholic organisations and Catholic-inspired NGOs; and organises its own advocacy campaigns such as #WucwoPlantingHope and #InvisibleNoMore. <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Participation in international fora: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We give voice to women around the world and defend Christian values in the five international organisations in which we are represented.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Synergies: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We facilitate the sharing of experiences and best practices among our organisations worldwide. The exchange between women from different cultures and continents enriches us and allows us to learn from each other and grow in empathy and understanding. <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Give Voice: <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We give voice to the most vulnerable women through our World Women&#8217;s Observatory (WWO), our networks and other media and communication channels.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Solidarity and support:<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We promote collaboration and mutual assistance among the various organisations that make up WUCWO and with WUCWO as a whole. We also foster fraternity among women in member organisations and joint work with other Catholic or related entities. <\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Prayer <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to specific prayer campaigns, WUCWO encourages the more than 8 million women members of its organisations to pray for one another so that they may grow in their spiritual lives and on the path to holiness. We invite you to join us on 13 May in the multilingual online prayer we are organising. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WUCWO is the <strong>only International Public Association of the Faithful dedicated to women recognised by the Holy See.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WUCWO is the <strong>only Catholic association that has a World Women&#8217;s Observatory<\/strong> which, from the perspective of the Gospel, listens to women in order to transform their lives. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Lavinia, our dear Secretary General, expresses so well further on:<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>we hope that the women in our organisations learn about, understand and value what WUCWO does, take advantage of the services it offers and enrich it. <\/em><\/h4>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is why we strive every day to improve our services, our two-way communication with you and the sharing of experiences.
