WUCWO’s IV Meeting with Women of the Middle East and the Mediterranean

Jul 2, 2026 | WUCWO

We announce the IV Meeting with Women of the Middle East and the Mediterranean, entitled: “Women: A Safe Haven for a Troubled Humanity”.

The meeting will take place in Malta from 23 to 26 October 2026, and it is endorsed by the Catholic Action of Malta (Azzjoni Kattolika Maltija – AKM) and the Maltese Episcopal Conference.

This gathering represents the continuation of a journey that WUCWO began over a decade ago to foster a culture of peace and accompany Christian women from the Middle East and the Mediterranean region. Previous meetings were held in Amman (2013), Bari (2016), and Rafina (2022). Throughout these years, women from across the region have come together with members of WUCWO from different parts of the world to deepen dialogue, strengthen relationships and promote peacebuilding initiatives inspired by the Gospel and the Social Doctrine of the Church.

Today, as conflicts, forced migration, social fragmentation and growing uncertainty continue to affect the region, we feel called to continue creating spaces where women can reflect together on their vocation as builders of peace, reconciliation, and hope. Inspired by the synodal journey of the Church this meeting seeks to foster encounter, the exchange of experiences, discernment and solidarity among Christian women committed to serving their communities.

The gathering will bring together women from the Middle East and Mediterranean region and women of WUCWO (including its international Board).
