From Hope to Action
This week we are celebrating Laudato Si’ Week 2026, May 17– 24, under the theme ‘From Hope to Action’, a global call to turn hope into concrete commitment. It is a worldwide celebration of prayer, reflection and action in support of our common home.
Hope is not passive; it is lived and shared through our daily decisions, community life, prayer, and concrete actions to care for our common home.
At WUCWO, we would like to invite you to use this Ecological Examen, a reflection tool inspired by Pope Francis’ call in Laudato Si’, to care for creation and reconcile our relationship with God, with creation, and with one another. It can be used as a personal prayer or during meetings and community gatherings. We also encourage you to share this tool with others.
Ecological Examen
I give thanks to God for creation and for being wonderfully made.
Where did I feel God’s presence in creation today?
I ask for the grace to see creation as God does – in all its splendor and suffering.
Do I see the beauty of creation and hear the cries of the earth and the poor?
I ask for the grace to look closely to see how my life choices impact creation and the poor and vulnerable.
What challenges or joys do I experience as I recall my care for creation? How can I turn away from a throwaway culture and instead stand in solidarity with creation and the poor?
I ask for the grace of conversion towards ecological justice and reconciliation.
Where have I fallen short in caring for creation and my brothers and sisters? How do I ask for a conversion of heart?
I ask for the grace to reconcile my relationship with God, creation and humanity, and to stand in solidarity through my actions.
How can I repair my relationship with creation and make choices consistent with my desire for reconciliation with creation?

WUCWO Planting Hope
From the WUCWO Ecology Working Group, we continue to promote the “WUCWO Planting Hope” campaign. We still have time to make a great impact before our next General Assembly. We are more than 8 million women around the world and, together, we can contribute to caring for our planet.
So far, we have reached 36,615 trees planted.
We invite every WUCWO woman to plant at least one tree and encourage her friends and family to join this initiative.
May this week help us become more aware of the importance of caring for our planet and encourage us to continue using our voices to promote hope.
