Religious freedom

A foundation for the path
of brotherhood and peace (FT 279)

Religious freedom is a profound expression of human dignity and a cultural treasure that must be protected.

In a world marked by diversity, we promote a culture of inclusion and peace, where faith is a bridge of encounter between persons and peoples and where the richness of welcoming and valuing differences is recognised.

We organise training and reflection meetings on religious freedom, interreligious dialogue and ecumenism.

In addition, we collaborate with women leaders of different faiths through the Interreligious Network of Women Fostering Encounter, a space where bonds of fraternity are built on faith and mutual respect.

Our voice is also heard in international organisations, where we denounce all forms of discrimination and religious persecution and defend this fundamental right as the basis for peaceful coexistence.
