Filmmaker and Art Director Lia Beltrami Presented the "Women's Cry" Project at the "Women Deliver" 2023 International Conference

Kigali, Rwanda - The prestigious "Women Deliver" 2023 International Conference has become a reference point of empowerment and advocacy, attracting over 6,000 women from all corners of the world.

As the conference convened in Kigali, Rwanda, from 17th to 20th July 2023, the focus was firmly set on championing women's rights and sustainable development.

Amidst this extraordinary gathering, Lia Beltrami, renowned filmmaker and art director, took the stage as a representative of the World Women's Observatory, initiative of the World Union of Catholic Women's Organisations (WUCWO).

With a resolute commitment to driving tangible change, Lia Beltrami presented the "Women's Cry" exhibition and the documentary "In-visibles" as a critical catalyst for advancing these essential objectives.

The "Women's Cry" project, developed under the auspices of WUCWO's World Women's Observatory, with the support of the Vatican Dicastery for Communication,  was conceptualised to provide women from diverse backgrounds a powerful platform to testify their stories, invisible to people's eyes.

Beltrami emphasized the urgent need to shed light on women's experiences, which often remain unheard in societies around the world.

In her address, Lia Beltrami outlined the multifaceted aspects of the project, including advocating for gender-inclusive policies, addressing violence against women, combating gender-based discrimination, and fostering economic empowerment.

The project's comprehensive approach is designed to create a lasting impact on the lives of women, ultimately striving towards a more equitable and just global community.
