WUCWO answered to the invitation of the Ecology & Creation Sector of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development to write a short reflection on how the Encyclical Letter of Pope Francis, Laudato si’, has impacted people's lives in various contexts.

The reflections have been collated into the ‘Laudato si’ Reader - An Alliance of Care for Our Common Home’ that has been recently released. In total, the book contains 81 short reflection essays from all around the world written by high-level politicians, farmers, indigenous communities, religious leaders, young people, scientists and business people.

The book includes a preface from Pope Francis, a special message from António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, and an introduction by Cardinal Peter K.A. Turkson, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development.

WUCWO’s Secretary General, Lavinia Rocchi Carrera contributed to the book with a personal reflection that described the impact of the Encyclical Laudato si’ within WUCWO members and their organisation.
