EUROPE: European regional conference in 2008 organised in cooperation with Caritas and USMI, in Verona (Italy). A call to the European Parliament was launched to unify the anti-trafficking strategies connected with the sexual exploitation of women and children.
LATIN AMERICA: In 2013, the organisations from Latin America, with the participation of North America, called another regional conference focusing on the same challenge: “Raise awareness, prevent and act”. The participants, from 17 countries, represented organisations with much experience. The meeting was inter-religious and worked with a strong media presence.
AFRICA: In June 2014, our Members in Cameroon organised a seminar for awareness raising and training, with the participation of 52 women from 17 African countries, to end HT, not only on the African Continent but in the world at large.
COATNET: from 2014 WUCWO does ecumenical work too. COATNET is a Christian network that combats human trafficking, promoted by Caritas Internationalis. Last meeting was held against trafficking in Africa, in Nigeria, in 2016.
AT GRASS-ROOTS LEVEL: many of the 100 WUCWO member organisations work against trafficking:
AT INTERNATIONAL LEVEL: in different international agencies; last January WUCWO has proposed in the European Council, this issue as a transversal theme.
WITH THE PONTIFICAL ACCADEMY: participation and collaboration in some of the Congress promoted by Pope Francis.
